The JUUL is an electronic cigarette developed by PAX Labs. The product was released to the public on June 1, 2015 as a next generation, user-friendly e-cigarette.[1] The e-cigarette is described as being shaped like a USB-drive.[2] [3] The e-cigarette uses nicotine salts found in leaf-based tobacco to create an experience more like smoking than other e-cigarettes on the market.[4] With each hit taken of the JUUL device, flavored vapor is released into the air leaving little to no scent behind. The device uses a magnetic USB deck to recharge and is fully charged after one hour of being plugged in. JUUL Pods Each JUUL starter kit comes with four flavored nicotine pods, Miint (Mint), Fruut (Fruit Medley), Bruule (Creme Bruule [Crème brûlée]) and Tabaac (Virginia Tobacco). Not included with the starter kit but available for separate purchase, along with the above-mentioned flavors, include a limited-time Mango flavor and formerly, a Coco Miint [Mint Chocolate] flavor. The pods double as interchangeable mouthpieces for the device and each pod delivers approximately 200 hits.[5] Each pod contains 0.7mL of e-juice with 5% nicotine.[6]
